A few of you may have seen on our stories, the studio was broken into yesterday. We want to thank everybody who shared the story so far- we really do appreciate all of the love and support.
The studio is not only a workplace to us- it is what each of us considers a second home. It’s a place where we hope our clients come to feel safe and comfortable. Having our building broken into, possessions stolen and the studio ransacked in the process is one of our collective worst fears.
We wanted to share a few more details of what happened to hopefully circulate this as far as we possibly can and identify those involved. We also hope by sharing this as much as we can, we might also be able to avoid this happening to anyone else’s small businesses over the Christmas period. At roughly 5:00am, a masked individual attempted to force entry through the front door using a crowbar. When that didn’t work, he climbed onto the roof, lowered himself into our courtyard, and forced entry with a crowbar in the courtyard door. CCTV shows the individual moving through the studio using a torch, taking a machine, before leaving the premises. (The 4th clip shows the first person breaking in). At approximately 11:30am, a second masked individual entered the studio. CCTV shows this person on the phone to another individual who appeared to be directing them around the building and telling him what to look for. He pulled apart the studio as he was doing so, chucking equipment on the floor, tearing our possessions off the shelves and emptying workstations. (He is in the rest of the slides). We have extensive CCTV (with sound) of both incidences.
Multiple items were stolen, including multiple tattoo machines, machine batteries, an iPad, tattoo needles, and other essential equipment required for our work. Significant damage was also caused to the studio.
If anyone recognises the individuals involved, or have any relevant information, please contact us as soon as possible so we can pass it on to the police. We also would really appreciate it if you could all share as much as possible to get their faces out there. (Please read the comments for the rest of the post)
